Love in Punjab... Ek Aisi Isshtory...LOL

Born in a punjabi family, I have grown up eating desi ghee, listening to punjabi folk music and seeing people get TALLI on DAARU (drinks) but I was never able to discover the age-old secrets of 'Love in Punjab' until....One day listening to one of my favourite punjabi love song, I entered the zone of enlightening. I realized the undiscovered, the undescribed and the un-discussed side of Punjabi love. My friend Abhishek always said "Punjab mein jab koi bachcha paida hota hain, toh maa usko dekh key apney pati se bolti hain...Ji main isey POP singer banaaongi"...LOL...He used to tease me ki Punjabi bas khaatey- peetey(Please read it TALLI hotey hain) aur naachtey hain... I wud not like to comment on this. :D but yeah! I want to share the GYAAN Punjabi Love songs gave me : 1. Your lover is high on calories and injurious to health. He/She is either Makhkhan or Malai and in worst possible scenario SHE is Patiala Peg. 2. Even looking into your lover's eyes can intoxicate you. Didn't you hear the song "Botlaan Sharaab Diya Akhkhaan Teriya" - Your eyes are bottles of liquor. 3. The Punjabi guys impress their women by singing "Desi Ghee di churi kutkey, tere mooh vich paava" - Means I will feed you ground chapaati in desi ghee. Refer to the song on the blog for details. 4. All love songs are based on either ghee, makhaann, food aur liqour. 5. Every lover has a high risk of suffering from diabetes coz all females are compared to Sugar-based delicacies. (Gudd, Mishri, GulaabJamun) 6. Every gal is referred to as- JUGNI. Who is Jugni?? Don't ask me. 7. All lovers dance to bhangra songs and not some love ballads. 8. It is mandatory for a guy to take GEDAA ( rounds) of a gal's house 10-15 times a day on his bike to impress her and let her know that she is the one. 9. To prove his love, the guy shud atleast scare away 5-8 goondas away or he shud have Sardaari in the locality. 10. Every guy should compare his galfriend to some fat-based food item or something as disastrous as Liqour. 11. A guy who does not drink is a THASSI and no gal wants to be with him. Ideally, 98% men are found on THEKAAS (Liqour shops) after sunset. 12. 80% lovers secretly meet in Sarson ke Khet :D :D 13. 93% lovers sing JUDAAI KE GAANEY!! :P :P 14. Almost every gal sings "Boohe Baariyan" once in their lifetime to impress their lover. 15. 76% of the females have long hair, laal paraanda, chaudhvi ka chaand looks and they go shopping and do nothing but dance in Giddas. 16. 97% men in love(Jatts) are sharaabi(MANDATORY) and they find their love in marriages or melaas where she is doing nothing but yet again dancing. 17. Lovers are often compared to RABB giving Almighty a serious Inferiority Complex. 18. Aashiqui is a full-time job and is a compulsory part of growing up as is DRINKING and singing. 19. A lover can be dissolved in Daaru and one can drink him/her. necessarily HER. 20. No matter how old they are, they stick to Glassis which are used to serve lassi to small kids. :D This precious GYAAN of the civilization is your way to find love in Punjab and in case anyone wants to add something I missed on, they are most welcome. P.S. Thanks everyone for your wishes for Ankii, he is better now. Will take another 15 days to be back to normal. I think this weekend will be some relief if the mercury does not shoot up as always in Delhi.
