30, Single and Not-sorry :)

In a world where being a 30-yr old single woman raises eyebrows, I am more than looking forward to turning 30 at the end of this year.

There are various floating perceptions about women who stay unmarried till the age of 30 or beyond. I recall how my male colleagues whispered to themselves a couple of years back, while talking about my then-female boss "frustrated hain, shaadi nahi huyi na uski"... I was amazed as to how people get all judgmental over a woman's age. She might actually be getting better sex than all of them. Frustrated!! :P

Ironically, these are the guys who would wait for a glimpse of the short-skirted women at work even after being happily married with kids. Where lies the frustration, then? :O ;)

Anyways, all of us have such set of guys at our workplaces. So let it be.

In India, we have more of women deciding to wait for love or wait for their careers to shape up before getting married. I believe this is justified to an extent, coz it really does not matter who marries first, what matters is how long the marriage lasts...

The world is agitated. Why? Coz they expect a woman nearing 30, huddled in a corner, depressed and lonely.. with all the melodrama attached, but what they see now is a 30-something woman, single and happy in her own world. HOW CAN THAT BE? Aren't unmarried OLDER set of women suppose to be sad, lonely souls? Eh!

I don't intend to ruffle any feathers here or challenge opinions. I think, it is time, we accept '30 and single' is not old, sad and lonely anymore. 30 is not even the new 20. 30 is just awesome 30.. with a thumbs up!

So, instead of worrying about age and all that jazz...best is to indulge in 30s.. coz science says, this is when women are at their sexiest best...let us kick some heels.

Mast raho! Dilchasp raho!

Came over from Ria's page, and I am hooked. I am with you 100% on this 30 thing! If people are commenting negavtively, its plain simple -> they are jealous.

Age is just a number, 30 or not 30, how is happiness got to do anything with it?!!??

And people who talk, bah, if not this, they will find 'a reason' to talk. Because you know what, they have to!

Totally mast raho!

See, getting married is COMPLETELY your own choice, whether you are 18, 30 or even 40!
You are right, it is not about your age, but about the age of marriage.
You know, in my profession, it is said that either the women are not married, divorced or in long distance marriages/relationships..which is a fact actually.
One of my bosses is a divorcee and the other who is not my partner in charge any more- has her husband of 16 years staying in Germany (they meet in summer/winter holidays)

But the fact is that they have decided their lives to be like that and we are no one to comment, but it does become irritating, when they don't have a life and then try to curb yours (trust me- been at the receiving end here)

So kick ass girl- it is about your own happiness.. live it like you live it :)

Me,

I agree with you. Marriage should be when one is ready. Age does have a part to play but that should not make people start passing comments. What about a boy who is past 30 but still not married?

Take care

There is this awesome woman at work, 32 and not married. She looks 25.She seems to me as the ultimate celebration of life.

Shaadi sucks dude.
Chal live in-te hai :D

Age is just a number bhai. You don't look 30 unless you feel 30. And even if you feel 30, you still don't look 30, take my word for that :)

Love u behena :*

I too have heard this from peeps, specially for boss, "she is so irritated, for sure she didn't have a good fuck last night" or "she should marry, she is too sad these days ". I don't know how people relate everything with marriage and sex. Disgusting.

Me May 13, 2012 at 3:20 PM

True that, Nidzzii

Almost 25, definitely single..with no intention to get hooked and loving it!!

Did I tell you.. that I love you??!

Ash July 6, 2012 at 2:54 PM

I'm nearly in my mid thirties, and single... and am perfectly happy! People have stupid perceptions and stereotypes.

Some of the most frustrated women are married, and they're frustrated BECAUSE of it!
